NFL betting with crypto: spreads, totals, pushes and overtime
NFL scores move in threes and sevens, and the spread market is built around that fact. This guide explains spreads, totals and moneylines, why 3 and 7 are called key numbers, what a push does to your stake, how regular-season overtime now works, and the dates that run to Super Bowl LXI.

Most NFL bets are not about who wins. They are about the margin, and margins in this sport cluster around a handful of numbers because of how points are scored. Understand those numbers and the spread market starts to make sense; ignore them and you pay for half points you did not need.
How NFL scoring shapes the line
The scoring table is short. A touchdown is worth six points, the kicked extra point one, a two-point conversion two. A field goal is three. A safety is two.
Put a touchdown and an extra point together and you get seven. A field goal alone is three. Close games therefore tend to finish with a margin of 3 or 7, and bettors call those the key numbers.
That is why the price of moving a spread is not even. Buying a half point from -3.5 to -3 can turn a loss into a push in a game the favourite wins by three. Buying a half point from -5.5 to -5 rarely changes anything. A good sportsbook prices that difference; a careless bettor does not notice it.
Spreads, totals and the moneyline in crypto NFL betting
The point spread handicaps the favourite. At -6.5 the favourite must win by seven or more. At +6.5 the underdog covers by losing by six or fewer, or by winning. Both sides are usually priced near 1.91 in decimal (example), which is how the bookmaker's margin is built in.
The total is the combined score of both teams against a line, for example 44.5 (illustration only). Totals ignore who wins: a 24–21 game goes over 44.5, a 20–17 game goes under.
The moneyline asks only who wins. A heavy favourite might be 1.25 and the underdog 4.20 in an example market. There is no margin to beat, only a result.
| Market | Line or price (example) | Wins when | Can it push? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Point spread | Favourite -3 | Wins by 4+ | Yes, on a 3-point win |
| Point spread | Favourite -3.5 | Wins by 4+ | No |
| Total | Over 44.5 | Combined 45+ | No |
| Total | Over 44 | Combined 45+ | Yes, on exactly 44 |
| Moneyline | Underdog at 4.20 | Underdog wins | Tie is settled by rule |
In crypto NFL betting the markets are the same as in any currency. Only the deposit and the withdrawal move in coins.
How a push works
A push is a tie against the line. If you back a favourite at -7 and it wins 27–20, you neither win nor lose; the stake comes back. Whole-number lines can push; half-point lines cannot.
In an accumulator, a pushed leg is usually removed and the remaining legs are recalculated, much as with a void leg. Our accumulator guide shows the arithmetic. Rules differ on this point. That is a clause to read before building a six-leg Sunday ticket, and the parlay calculator will show what each leg is worth.
Overtime: the 10-minute rule
The current regular-season overtime is ten minutes long. A coin toss decides who receives. Both teams get a possession, with one exception: a safety by the kicking team during the receiving team's first drive ends the game. After both have had the ball, the team in front wins; if still level, the next score wins. If nothing separates them after ten minutes, the game ends as a tie.
What that means for a bet:
- Full-game spreads and totals include overtime. A total sitting at 41 at the end of regulation against a line of 44.5 can still go over in the extra period.
- Ties are rare but real. A two-way moneyline usually refunds on a tie. A spread bet on a tied game is settled on the line: the underdog at +3 wins, the favourite at -3 loses.
- Half and quarter markets end at their own whistle. Overtime is never part of a second-half bet unless the rules say “second half including overtime”.
Ordered by the payout time each operator states, fastest first after Vave; no stated time goes last
The operators above are ordered by the payout time written in their own terms. Wild.io states 10–60 minutes. Rainbet says 5–15 minutes in normal conditions, though that figure is on its home page rather than in its rules. Rocketpot pays within 72 hours (point 11.3), Vave within 3 days (point 8.1) and BetPlays within 5 banking days (point 6.6). Metaspins prints no time in section 12. Shuffle prints no payout ceiling. The methodology page explains how those clauses are compared.
The 2026 NFL season to Super Bowl LXI
The season opened on 9 September 2026: eighteen weeks, seventeen games per team. The regular season ends on 10 January 2027, the Wild Card round follows on 16–18 January, and Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for 14 February 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
For European readers, part of the calendar is local this autumn:
- 11 October — Philadelphia at Jacksonville, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London.
- 18 October — Houston at Jacksonville, Wembley Stadium, London.
- 25 October — Pittsburgh at New Orleans, Stade de France, Paris: the first regular-season game in France.
- 8 November — Cincinnati at Atlanta, Bernabéu, Madrid.
- 15 November — New England at Detroit, Allianz Arena, Munich.
Crypto NFL betting on those games works the same as any other week, but the games are played in a European time zone, so the result is in before bedtime.

- Shop the key numbers first. If you like a favourite, see whether -2.5 is available before taking -3. That half point is worth more than any other.
- Read the injury report on Friday. A starting quarterback ruled out can move a line sharply.
- Decide on overtime. If your view is about regulation only, use a market that ends at sixty minutes.
- Keep the stake in a stablecoin. A late game in the US finishes in the early hours in Europe. Your winnings should be worth the same when you wake up.
- Cap the slate. A full Sunday slate is not a reason to bet every game on it. The bankroll guide helps you size each bet.
