What last season says, and what it does not

Arsenal beat Leeds 5–0 in London on 23 August 2025 and 4–0 at Elland Road on 31 January 2026, nine goals to none over two games. Arsenal finished as champions with 85 points; Leeds finished 14th with 47.

That record will weigh on the opening prices. The counter-argument is the five-match sample from this season, in which Leeds have defended better than anyone bar Everton and Arsenal have shown, at Brighton, that they can be beaten heavily. Any Arsenal vs Leeds prediction has to decide how much weight to give a full season against five recent matches. Our answer is: most of it to the season, some of it to the recent form.

Our view on the result (opinion)

• Lean: Arsenal to win. They won both home games this season and both meetings last season, and one bad afternoon at Brighton does not undo that. Our estimate of a fair price is about 1.60; treat it as an estimate rather than a quote.
• Second thought: both teams to score, no. Leeds score little away from home (two goals in two trips), and Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in five.
• What we would skip: Arsenal -1.5 or wider. Leeds have not lost a league match yet this season, and a wide handicap asks them to collapse in a way their numbers do not show.

That is our Arsenal vs Leeds prediction. It is a view, built on a small sample from this season and a large one from last, and a single match can go against both.
