World series crypto betting: series price or game line

A series price is a bet on which team wins four games first. It settles once, when the series ends, however many games that takes. A game line is a bet on one game and settles the same night.

The two are linked but not identical. Suppose a team is priced at 1.60 in each game against an evenly matched opponent at home and away. That is an implied chance of roughly 62 % per game. Over seven games the chance of reaching four wins first is higher than the per-game figure, around 73 % on our estimate, because the stronger side has more games to make its edge count. A fair series price would then be about 1.37. If the sportsbook shows 1.45, the series price looks generous next to the game lines; if it shows 1.30, it is the other way round. The arithmetic is an example, not a forecast for any real matchup.

Other series markets worth knowing:

• Correct series score: 4–0, 4–1, 4–2 or 4–3 for either side. Eight outcomes, longer prices.
• Total games: usually over or under 5.5 games. A short series favours the under; evenly matched teams push it the other way.
• To win in a set number of games: a narrower version of the correct score.

Game lines: moneyline, run line and totals

Three markets carry most of the action on a single postseason game.

The moneyline is a straight pick of the winner. Extra innings count, so there is no draw.

The run line is baseball's handicap, almost always set at 1.5 runs. The favourite at -1.5 must win by two or more; the underdog at +1.5 wins the bet if it wins the game or loses by one run. Because so many baseball games are decided by a single run, the price gap between the two sides of a run line is usually narrow.

Totals ask whether the combined runs go over or under a line such as 7.5. Read the market name for “including extra innings”. In the regular season, MLB puts a runner on second base at the start of each extra half-inning; in the postseason it does not, so a tied game can stay tight for a long time and add runs slowly.

Listed pitchers in world series crypto betting

Baseball is the one major sport where the bet itself can depend on a named player who is not part of the market. When you place a game bet, many coupons show the two scheduled starting pitchers. You then have two choices.

1. Listed pitchers: the bet stands only if both named pitchers start. If either is replaced before the first pitch, the bet is void and the stake is returned.
2. Action: the bet stands whoever starts. If a pitcher changes, the sportsbook rules decide whether the price is adjusted.

The choice matters in October. Managers use openers, bring starters back on short rest, and change plans after a long extra-innings game the night before. If your bet is about a specific ace, list the pitchers. If your bet is about the lineups or the ballpark, action is often the better fit. Whatever you pick, a pitcher who starts and leaves after one batter still counts as having started.

Rain, suspensions and resumed games

Weather is the setting most people forget to check. In the regular season a game stopped early by rain can still produce a result. The postseason is different. After the 2008 World Series, MLB has required every postseason game to be played to completion, at least nine innings. A game stopped by weather is suspended and picked up later from the exact point where it stopped.

That keeps the sporting result clean, but it creates a settlement question. A pre-game bet on a game that is resumed the next day is still a bet on a game that started; whether it stands depends on the sportsbook's own baseball rules. Some set a time window after the scheduled start, and a game resumed outside that window voids open bets. In-play bets struck before the stoppage follow the same rule. Ask yourself these three questions before a damp night:

• Does the rule say the game must be completed within a set number of hours?
• Are bets on markets already decided, such as first-inning runs, settled anyway?
• Do player props still count if the player does not return after the delay?
